ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Oversee and participate in various components of funded research projects, including research design, data collection, and analysis for applied research projects focused on transitioning science-based tools to meet end-user needs. Support the procurement of funding through grants and other opportunities. Contribute to outreach activities and presentations. Assist in procurement of funding through grants and other opportunities. Assist in the preparation of project-related technical reports and professional papers. Develop publications for submission to peer-reviewed journals. Deliver presentations at relevant professional conferences and workshops, both nationally and locally. OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform additional duties as required. LICENSES, TOOLS, AND EQUIPMENT: Computers, printers; geographic information system (GIS), word processing, data management, spreadsheet software. Must provide own transportation. REQUIRED: 1. Master’s degree in Environmental Studies, Marine Affairs, Communications, Public Policy or related social sciences field. 2. Minimum of three years of research or related professional experience. 3. Demonstrated experience in human subjects research. 4. Demonstrated evidence of a minimum of one peer reviewed publication as first author or other significant role. 5. Demonstrated strong verbal and interpersonal communications skills. 6. Demonstrated proficiency in written communication skills. 7. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups/populations. 8. Must provide own transportation. PREFERRED: 1. PhD in environmental studies, marine affairs, or other social science-based degree. 2. Demonstrated ability to collaborate with government decision-makers. 3. Demonstrated experience with ESRI ARC GIS products. | |
