We are pleased to invite researchers to contribute to our session “Human-environment responses to abrupt climate changes” at the EGU26 General Assembly, held in Vienna (Austria) and online from 3-8 May 2026.
This session focuses on how abrupt climate and environmental changes over the past ~14 600 years have impacted societies and ecosystems in Europe and the Mediterranean. We particularly encourage inter- and transdisciplinary studies that link climate, environmental change and human resilience, as well as comparisons between past and present dynamics.
Both oral and poster presentations are welcome, and contributions can be presented on-site or virtually.
