Raj Patel was educated at Oxford, the London School of Economics and Cornell University.  The bestselling author of The Value of Nothing: Why Everything Costs So Much More Than We Think, Food Rebellions! Crisis and the Hunger for Justice,and Stuffed and Starved: Markets, Power and the Hidden Battle for the World's Food System, he is currently a fellow at the Institute for Food and Development Policy in Oakland, California; a visting researcher at the University of KwaZula-Natal in South Africa; and a visiting scholar at the Center for African Studies at the University of California at Berkeley. 

He has worked for the World Bank, interned at the WTO, consulted for the UN and been involved in international campaigns against his former employers.  For more information, including his blog, vist www.rajpatel.org.

Lucie Edwards worked in the department of Foreign Affairs from
1976 to 2009, as the High Commissioner to India, South Africa, Kenya and Permanent Representative to the United Nations Environment program.
 
She founded the Global Issues Bureau and served as Assistant
 Deputy Minister for Corporate Services in Ottawa.
 
Since her days as a Trent undergraduate, Lucie has designed and
managed agricultural and community development projects supporting
villagers in Africa and South Asia.
