Subject: Don't miss it! Climate justice teach-in Saturday 10-5
From: boliv...@gmail.com
To: boliv...@gmail.com

Dear Friends,

Thirty-five community organizations have rallied to endorse this Saturday’s conference on “Building a Global Alternative for Climate Justice: Lessons from Bolivia” – a significant gesture of broad solidarity with the world’s peoples menaced by environmental destruction.

The conference links up with a bold new global initiative of social movements in action for climate change and human rights. It will be held on November 13 at Sidney Smith Hall, Room 2118, 100 St. George St., 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

Bolivia’s United Nations ambassador, Pablo Solon, explains its context: The world’s great powers “say now is the time to privatize even nature – carbon markets, carbon rights, environmental services, water. And we say No! So we have presented, in the UN, a draft proposal on the Declaration of the Universal Rights of Mother Earth.”

The November 13 teach-in is part of a global movement for this goal.

Preregister now (so we may order your lunch) at boliviacli...@gmail.com.
