SMS : Trek accident - Fund for Manigandan - Reg

I came to know about a trek accident through our member Prasanna Venkatesh. His friend Kannan had sent an email detailing about the accident (please see the below mail). I went to MIOT hospital (Chennai) on 28 th July 2010 and collected all possible details form Kannan. 

The guy who met with an accident is R. Manigandan, his father is a bus conductor. The total estimated amount for his operation is about 3 lakhs. Kannan and his friends have already paid 1.5 lakhs for his operation and they need 1.5 lakhs more for his post surgery expenses. 

I just got an update from Kannan while composing this email that Manigandan has been taken to operation theater and everything is going good so far. Lets pray for Manigandan for this speedy recovery and more over please forward this to as many people as possible. 

Remember we need 1.5 lakhs more, so I request you all to consider a small amount contributed for this which is going to make a huge difference.

Hi Ravi,

This is in response to the conversation we had at MIOT Hospital earlier today, sorry for the delay. I had been preoccupied with work. We went on a hiking trip to Eastern Ghats over the last weekend where R.Manigandan, 25 yrs, male got hurt badly in the head.

Complications follow:

Injury in the skull, C6 cortex fractured, spine contusion, haemorrhage, CSF flow restricted, temporarily paralysed from chest down. Right now he is admitted in MIOT hospital and is being monitored in ICU. Spine Surgery is scheduled on Friday. The total cost of the surgery /post-trauma care is expected to be over 3 lakhs.  Since the patient comes from a financially weak family they can’t afford to pay the complete amount towards the surgery. We have been pooling money from all  fours.
