Hi All,
My son, Kavin, was diagnosed with meningitis and was hospitalized at “Kurinji Hospital” in Coimbatore, where he underwent treatment for 60 days, which cost Rs 2.5 Lakhs. Post the treatment and returning home we realized that he is unable to hear any sound / noise. We realized what had happened and rushed him for further checkups, based on which doctors diagnosed him to have developed bilateral profound sensory neural hearing loss following the meningitis attack (meaning total loss of hearing and speech functions). He needs to undergo Cochlear Implantation surgery in both his ears to restore hearing and speech function before the end of August. Please find attached estimates from Hospital amounting nearly Rs 24 Lakhs. This is in addition to the hospital expenses of around 2.5 Lakhs spent during the treatment earlier for Meningitis.
