Help Needed for 19Yrs Old Boy

Hi Cliff Friends,

 

Today I came across an article in the newspaper which needed our attention. I think it is the right time for us to lend our helping hands to those who are in need. The article was about a small boy aged 19 who is under the pitiable situation of kidney failure. It is very heartening to know that both of his kidneys are damaged.

 

Now his suffering is in the final stage and its hightime for us to react to it proactively. From the doctors it was evident that he needs to be operated within 5 months and the Kidney Transplantation would cost 5 lakhs which is an extremely huge amount that his family cant afford.

 

Using the phone number in the article I contacted the person who had published this news. From him I found out that the boys father had passed away in a accident at the construction site where was earning his living. His mom presently works as a coolie and he has a sister who is married. So at present he is the only person who is there to support his mom and take care of their living. With his mom working their daily earnings come to less than Rs 50 with which it is impossible to carry on with his surgery.

 

His name is Satheesh Kumar and he is presently undergoing treatment in Salem Gobi Hospital.I have herewith attached the scanned article which appeared in the 12th page of Dhinamalar today (Wednesday 26th Maay 2010).

 

How are we gonna proceed and what are we gonna do now ?????

We may also find out is there any means that "Kalaingar Kapitu thitam" can afford this.

SInce this being a big amount for Cliff right now, we may assist in identifying source. Also, since this had come in a well known Media, there may be many one time Donators on this.

We meanwhile enquire in the said Hospital and find out what can be done in reality. If required we ourselves may go to salem once and see what best could be done.

Also, one of My friend Rajesh (Ravi may be knowing him) had met with an accident and severly injured. He is being operated tomorrow for various reasons. He is O+ve. He may be in need on Blood tomorrow or the day after. I request anyone with O+ve can be ready to donate. We are trying all means.

Following are the information collected by Dinesh last weekend. I have just copy-pasted and highlighted few points in the email he had sent to me.

This is the complete details i have collected from his aunt ( Kala), His mother (Amaravati) and diagnosis details from           

Dr. M. Valarmathi. M.B.B.S.

Name : M. Satheesh Kumar
Age  : 19 yrs
Address: Amaravathi
              therkathiyatheru,
              Polasuwalkampatti,
              Mettur (tk), Salem Dist. pin - 636452
Mothers name : Amaravathi.
Mothers occupation: Coolie
Daily wage : Rs 85

      He was studying 12th in govt hr sec school and 1 month before the exam he got this kidney failure. He gave the exams and failed in two subjects. He was under the treatment of dialysis for past three months and the operation should be done within 6  months.

 

      The total amount required for the surgery is 4 lacks from which 1.5 lacks can be claimed by Kalainar Kapeedu Thittam. As a postoperative he should be under immunosupression for 1 year that will cost 20,000 per month. He is under dialysis now that cost about 1500 per sitting including medicines and travel. Dialysis should be done twice a week.

      At first he was taken to coimbatore for this there it was suggested the operation can be done in Salem itself. They came to Gokulam hospitals Salem, where he had a severe fits and life threatening situation so sent back home. later he recovered by gods grace. Later he was referred to Gopi hospitals.

 

I will communicate about the fund amount that can be released for this in my next email.

Dear members

 

With reference to my previous e-mail we will hand over Rs. 10,000 as the initial amount to Satheesh for this Kidney transplantation and post surgery treatment. Amount will be directly handed over to Gopi Hospital, Salem. This will be tagged under SMS category.

 

As a suggestion we shall collect some more fund especially for Satheesh. I request all regular members to collect money from your friends and family. The same shall be transferred to CE accounts and send us the details in a separate email.

 

The total amount required is around Rs. 5,00,000. If Satheesh can get Rs. 1,50,000 from Kalangar Kapettu Thitram, the remaining Rs. 3,50,000 has to be collected from any of the NGO. So I request all members to do their best and collect money as far as you can. Also please let us other NGOs know about this. I will get in touch with Gopi hospital on how much money has been collected so far and about the surgery date and other details. I will share all the details in my upcoming e-mails.

 

Satheesh will also be identified under TIP for his further studies, once he is back to normal life.

Hi All 

This is the latest update on this activity. 

Our member Dinesh was following up with Satheesh and his family. Here is the update. 

After the news in paper (dhinathandhi) he got lot of attention. So VAO along with MLA of his area have been approched and they promised to do some thing abt his case so they refered it to MMC. They got a letter from MMC also that they can join anytime. The cost, date of operation and donor for kidney will be informed to them when they get admitted in MMC. They il b doing it in few days.

Her aunt also promised to inform us when they r cming to chennai.

As he had already got required fund from other sources, Cliff Empire will hand over a cash of Rs. 10,000/- for his 5 sitting of dialysis. The remaining amount collected under this activity will be used for other activities under SMS.
