I would assume that depends upon the terms of the employer’s HSA and if she still meets the qualifications to contribute to an HSA.  So guessing she will need to inquire with the employer.

As long as she still has a qualifying HDHP, she can continue to contribute to an HSA. It doesn’t have to be a continuation of the same health care plan she had with her employer, any qualifying HDHP will do. There are many different custodians who can manage the contributions (e.g. HSA Bank, Payflex, etc.) and if she’s in a different plan from her former employer’s, she’s free to choose where she wants her contributions to go.  She can only contribute for months in which she has a qualifying HDHP. For a taxpayer aged 55 or more, the max contribution to a single HSA plan is $5,150 so she could contribute $429.17/month for any month in which she qualifies.
