Client’s returns were e-filed on 3/27/24. IRS refund has not been received to date. Where’s My Refund tool continues to show that return has been received and is in process. We are 9 days short of 4 moths with no other communication from the IRS. Anyone else experiencing similar delays. Client’s return is relatively straight forward MFJ, 2 dependents filer is W-2 wages, spouse has small Sch C for a hairdresser. No credits estimated taxes paid on time.
Hesitant to call as IRS website says calling gets no results other than that shown on Where’s My Refund tool as agents see the same info.
THOUGHTS?

Larry and Jan THANKS. I’m assuming you are in the same situation of “wait and see”? I don’t think I have ever had client experience this type of delay with no communication

THANKS Eileen. Might need to call them tomorrow. This really does not make any sense.
