Many thanks for the feedback. I've made some comments below.
Kind regards

We store quick notes and formatted notes differently. The content of quick notes is stored in the Description of the Drive file, whereas formatted notes are stored as HTML files. This is done to make the most efficient use of the Drive API. We did initially look at storing content as standard Drive Documents, but the export/import process was losing too much formatting. We can look to provide an "export to Google Document" feature if that would be useful.

Possibly the best compromise would be to add a save/discard dialogue if back is pressed with pending changes?
> Duplicate notes on android devices - I guess this is caused by deleted notes not being deleted locally.
This is something we need to investigate. What are the steps that result in duplicates?
> Would be nice to be able to tap on a note to start editing it.
The reason we didn't do this was the situation where accidentally starting an edit was undesirable. A use case we had in mind was a presenter using a note for his speaker notes. We can revisit this, or look at using long press.
> Would be great to extend search results to show the words in the note, and to be able to search within a note.
Good idea. Not easy to do, but we do like a challenge.
> Really need automatic sync (I see a tick box for it in settings), currently need to press save on the Android app, but on web you do not. This is not good as you need to think about which platform you are on when using it. (See Google Keep where the web and Android apps are almost identical in use).
This is on the cards. We've disabled it during Beta so that we can better track any sync issues, eg. potentially the duplication that you mentioned. Opinion seems divided regarding those who want explicit sync, vs those who prefer it to be automatic. This is why we make it optional.
> Web version:
> What does the flashing floppy disk mean? Flashing green to red. It looks bad what what should I do about it?
It simply means the web app is syncing with Google Drive. Now you mention it, I can see how the red may look alarming so we'll change it to simply blink the icon.
> If you create a quick note with no text, just a title, you cannot edit it to add text later.
We'll get that fixed asap.
> You cannot read all the note, it's not displayed initially, you can only resize the box after you start to edit it.
> This constant re-sizing of the notes to see there contents is annoying if you just want to look quickly at one note then another.
We agree. We're currently prototyping three different behaviours to see which gives the best combination of seeing all notes vs. expanding a focussed note to see its contents.
