Hi!

For pity the Import of my Catch.com notes, which I stored on my computer as Catch "died" (and which I had to "re-write" into Google Keep notes, which - Keep notes -  I can not export again :( ), does not work as as described in the video linked here http://www.clevernote.co/support.html - via importing enex files.

When I klcik the message "1 pending import" in the right upper corner of your website, I get a notification "Error: Not Found

The requested URL /app/foo was not found on this server."


Am I doing smth wrong or is this service stopped and you just did not change the content of your website regarding this point or what's up?

And "by the way" - any elegant way to get the notes I stored / created in Google Keep to CleverNote?

Nothing elegant I'm afraid. Google Keep is a closed system with no API or export facility. We're constantly probing to see what we can do from our end to address this.

Dear Lyn, it's me again. Import of the Catch notes was alright now. The note made on your website directly -  http://www.clevernote.co/app/b - appeared in Google Drive immediately. Bur the note made in your Android app (where the ONLY folder I could chose was the "unified notes") did NOT appear in my Google Drive despite of the setting that it has to be synced immediately. And: Any chance to set TWO OR MORE DIFFERENT Google accounts in the Android app which could be chosen when needed ? (( Explanation: I usually give every of my mobile devices it's own Google account so that backups are stores there and also to differentiate between the contacts used on different devices etc., and I also so have my 'central' Google account - which is crazy full ;/ - and which I do also use as a kind of an archive for important things)). All the attempts to OPEN the notes, imported from Catch, in the Google Drive via CleverNote failed - after the messages, the note will be retrieved, the message 'Drive error. Not saved!' appeared in the pop window with the links like 'http://foo.clever-note.appspot.com/app/fpeekN.html#/!/?t=%20Listen%20aktualisieren%20EITRAGEN:2&i=0B9z4KPK7MEOUbHE5WnpYNVQ2VWM' and similar - every time, regarding every note... :(

All the attempts to OPEN the notes, imported from Catch, in the Google Drive with Google Docs nearly failed as well - the notes were empty and the NAME of the document (which has to show the full content of the note according to your description) showed ONLY THE TITLE of the note, further after these opening attempts the notes are DOUBLED in the Google Dirive folder containing them - Google Docs seem to MAKE A KIND OF A NEW DOCUMENT while opening a note and save these documents (which are EMPTY) ... :(

On YOUR WEBSITE I DO SEE my imported CATCH NOTES - WITH their contens, so it's smth about syncing them / storing them in Google Drive, what DOES NOT work.


The syncing with the Android app does not work in any direction - the only note I can see there is the test note I wrote in my Samsung Galaxy S5 and vice versa, on your website I ONLY see the Catch notes and the ONE TEST NOTE CREATED ON YOUR WEBSITE IN THE FOLDER 'unified notes', and in Google Drive I ONLY see the NAMES of the notes as described above - this ALSO DO APPLY TO THE mentioned above ONE TEST NOTE CREATED ON YOUR WEBSITE IN THE FOLDER 'unified notes' - got the message 'Drive error. Not saved!' here as well, appeared in the pop window with the link 'http://foo.clever-note.appspot.com/app/fpeekN.html#/!/?t=Test2%20aus%20Amilo%20auf%20der%20CleverNote%20WS%20http:%2F%2Fwww.clevernote.co%2Fapp%2Fb2&i=0B9z4KPK7MEOUZWRCck4tUF9sRE0' :( :( :(

Any idea how to overcome? :/

Hi Julia

We currently only support a single Google account in the Android app. From your explanation, I don't think this restriction should cause you a problem. You would configure both your central account and your per-device account on each device, and then choose the appropriate account (I guess your central) when setting up CleverNote.  

I suspect the syncing issue you are seeing is simply that Android and web are using different Google accounts.

It might be worth un-installing and re-installing the Android app to give yourself a clean start.

Please try the open from Drive again. We suspect it was simply that the app hadn't yet updated, or was cached.

To explain what you are seeing, although we store your notes on Google Drive, we do not store them as Google Docs. We did try to do that originally, but it caused too many problems with corrupted formatting. This is why if you try to open them with Docs, it complains that file is empty, and then tries to "fix" it by creating a new file. CleverNotes should (normally) only be opened by CleverNote. IF you really want to see your content in Google Docs (and we really don't recommend this), look in the Description field under Details. Did I mention that we really don't recommend this :-)?

The Android sync issue, we suspect, is caused by using different Google Accounts.

Tx, but... NO CHANCE.

1. Nope, it's NOT an issue of 2 different accounts; NO notes AT ALL are to be seen in the 'device-related' account - NEITHER via log in at your website NOR in the Google Drive of the "device related" account.
The notes I made in the device (Samsung Galaxy S5) can be seen ONLY IN YOUR APP ON THE DEVICE ITSELF(S5) despite of the 'good looking' reports of your app which 'says' it's syncing.
I also initially installed your app on the device (S5) using my CENTRAL (NOT 'device-related') account - just because I wanted to see the notes I imported therein from Catch (which probably could not be seen anyway as they are NOT stored in the 'unified notes' folder and the 'unified notes' is THE ONLY folder I can see in your android app in the device /S5 ).
NO NOTES made at your website as a 'test' with a computer are to be seen in the device (Samsung Galaxy S5)


2.  Not only that it's still impossible to retrieve the content of the single notes opening them in the browser (Firefox 33.1.1) from the Google Drive storage with 'CleverNote' as 'associated app' - still the same error message in a (really nasty ;/) popping out window (any chance to let it open in a new Firefox tab which it creates anyway, instead of a pop out?) is shown - but today it's also no chance to see the notes of my central account AT YOUR WEBSITE at all (ANY NOTES - neither those imported from Catch, nor those 'computer made test notes' - just NOTHING; only the names of the directories are shown. Klicking on the 'Kanban view' does not show the 'list view', which I could see last time, but just the text beginning with the line 'Open a folder to see it in Kanban view'...

For pity, I am going to the hospital now till the middle of December and am very upset that your app could not help me to overcome the problem of the stolen mobile devices (including my 2 last cell phones) asap (what I needed really BADLY, as I am normally a 'heavy cell phone user', working a lot from the phone and as I got a huge job nearly immediately after I get out from the hospital so I needed a fully set mobile BEFORE I go there ....); now I also just got more stress instead of less ;( and lost a lot of these damned precious time...

Just to be clear - it's not to expect that I could be able to use any computer in the hospital, and as all the possible devices were stolen with my bag, I just got one borrowed old phone for my data SIM to make a WiFi hot spot and this damned S5 which is not set yet...

Am not sure that I will be able to read and write here while in the hospital as well.

Anyway would be grateful for further support.

Please forgive the  - probably numerous - typos, got no time to check my text for them and am horribly tired.

I'm sorry to hear you're still having issues, and of course about your hospitalization. Hope you're well soon.

The issues are almost certainly due to the multiplicity of accounts. Could you let me have the gmail address of your central account so we can look more deeply. You can email me directly at sup...@clevernote.co rather than post it here. I would also suggest that you un-install and re-install the Android app, making sure that you specify the central account when prompted.

We'll do all we can at this end to help you out.

You can probably imagine that I came to the idea at the very beginning ;/ Will write you the both accounts asap from a VODAFONE address - in case you send me a reply please use the same address as it's the one I use for my work and check most frequently and as Vodafone sends SMS about incoming emails so that it would be more difficult for me not to notice your reply ;) Tx one more time, regards, Julia
