MORE ABOUT KNIT THE SEASON:

Readers first met the lively, witty and devoted members of the club in Kate Jacobs’s The Friday Night Knitting Club, the hit bestseller that climbed to the top the New York Times bestseller list, where it stayed for over a year. It now has more than a million copies in print. The second book in the series, Knit Two, built on this phenomenon and became a hit bestseller as well. Now, in KNIT THE SEASON (Berkley Trade Paperback; November 2, 2010; $14.00) the third novel in the series, Jacobs’s millions of fans are invited to spend the holidays with the Friday Night Knitting Club in a story about family and friendship, food and craft, and the true spirit of the season.

In KNIT THE SEASON, readers return to knitting store Walker & Daughter—now managed mostly by Georgia Walker’s daughter Dakota—where the group of spirited, diverse, and down-to-earth women continue to meet to knit, weigh in on each others’ achievements and frustrations, and to simply enjoy each others’ company, as they have since Georgia opened the store years earlier.

There is Lucie, struggling to cope with her aging mother; Darwin, sleepless with her twins; and KC, bursting with energy and irreverent humor. Anita is immersed in wedding plans—to the chagrin of her meddling son, Nathan—and Peri is forced to face a tough decision between her loyalty to the past and her ambitions for the future. Catherine is a bundle of nerves as she plans for a visit from her Italian boyfriend and his children. But keeping them all together is Dakota, now twenty years old, working hard towards her goal of refashioning the store into a boutique and knitting café that will combine her mother’s legacy with her own passion for baking. Dakota may not admit it often, but she feels a bit in over her head. When her father surprises her with a Christmas reunion at her great-grandmother’s home in Scotland, Dakota is in for some important realizations about life’s priorities. Once there, Dakota spends time with her Gran—hearing about Georgia’s happy Christmases past as a child, a young woman in love, and a doting new mother— and understands that she still can still learn valuable lessons from her mother about what it really means to grow up.

Warm (& sweatery) regards,
