Clever Hands held 12 meetings in 12 months in 2010. Meetings were
attended by, on average, two or three people, and while that was
great, it's not what I was hoping this group would become. I had hoped
that I could make an application to become a chapter of the Church of
Craft, but the group just isn't there, nor can I get it there. I don't
have the werewithal to be a Domestic Dominatrix (seriously, you should
SEE the clean and uncluttered state of my living room these days!),
run a business, and publicize a crafting group to help it grow.

I will be calling Share, who has graciously loaned us their facility
for the past year, to let them know that we do not need the space
anymore.

All that said, I'm not bitter, and I'm not going away. Given that
attendance at Clever Hands meetings was mostly people I already know
well enough to host in my home, I am going to continue to host
crafting get togethers on the third Thursday of every month. If you
already know where I live, then by all means, bring your kiddos and
some snacks (both optional) and come make stuff! If you don't, but
I've met you IRL (or someone I know has met you), you're welcome to
email me to get my addy, and you'll be invited along.

Craftily,
Kirsten

Hi Kirsten,

I'd love to stay linked if that's all right with you. I'm the one you
taught the first knitting lesson to who then disappeared. I work on
call and have fortunately/unfortunately been getting a lot of work the
last few months, but will show up whenever I'm not called in (and have
summers off entirely, hoorah.)

Cheers,
Jeni

P.s. Screw the knitting lessons. Just teach me how to be a domestic
dominatrix. Please oh please.

Heh. Either is fine. And I've met you in person, and you appear to not
be a crazy person, so do please ping me at my email address
(yummy...@gmail.com) if you want to know my coordinates. Third
Thursday of the month, all kids welcome, even the ones who require so
much attention that they prevent any actual crafting from happening.
It's all good. Making people is an important kind of making, too.

Gah - Thursdays are just impossible for me (obviously!), but I'd love to host some non-Thurs at my place...

On a side note - does anyone want a free 4 cup food processor?  It's missing it's pusher - so no good right now for shredding/slicing but could be fixed by someone familiar with wood or clay - perfectly fine for mixing/pureeing or one could use it for paper pulp crafts! :)

On a side side note - does anyone have a recommendation for a good doula or know where to look for one!?

Hope your 2010 was swell and happy 2011!

:)

I don't have any recommendations, but I'd ask on the Marsupial Mamas
mailing list, which you have probably already done. Good luck finding
one!

Non-Thursdays meet ups would be good.
