to Cleveland Java Users Group
As a reminder, please RSVP for the April Java User Group meeting on
April 8th. This month, our group will be taking a 'field trip'
downtown, where the meeting will be hosted by LeanDog at their unique
facility (in the old Hornblowers resturant).

Location:
1151 North Marginal Road
Cleveland, OH, 44114
(Next to the USS Cod, Burke Lakefront Airport)

Our topic will be Test Driven Development & Refactoring. From
Wikipedia: Test-driven development (TDD) is a software development
technique that uses short development iterations based on pre-written
test cases that define desired improvements or new functions. Each
iteration produces code necessary to pass that iteration's tests.
Finally, the programmer or team refactors the code to accommodate
changes. A key TDD concept is that preparing tests before coding
facilitates rapid feedback changes. Note that test-driven development
is a software design method, not merely a method of testing.

The staff at LeanDog have several years of experience assisting Java
development teams adopt agile practices, including TDD. In addition,
LeanDog has taught TDD concepts and practices for the past five years
for both Java and C++. This presentation will review some of the key
concepts from their course and end with observations and experiences
from coaching engagements.

Speaker bio forthcoming.

Meeting begins at 5:30PM (food/drinks/networking), followed by the TDD
session at 6:15PM.

Hope to see you there!

Scott
