Abstract:
The Java 6u10 platform (formerly known as the Consumer

is an upcoming release of the Java 6 platform that introduces a host of
new features to make deploying Java technology easier, faster, and
better. In this session, you'll learn about the following:
- The modular Kernel Java Runtime Environment (JRE) software, which
enables smaller JRE downloads
- Deployment Toolkit, a suite of technologies for detecting and
installing JRE implementations
- Patch in Place, for faster and smaller JRE software updates
- Java QuickStart Service, which reduces JRE software startup time
- Improved graphics performance under Windows
- The Nimbus pluggable look-and-feel
The
presentation covers these features and how they work, and how you
can use them to improve your software's user experience.
Hope to see you there!
