Questions about Krati and persistence (and replacing with Cassandra?)

I was unable to figure this out from the Krati site.  Maybe it's down?  The page on the SNA site 404s.

How is Krati node replication done?  Is it relatively easy to setup and just works in clustered environments?  Or is it more like berkeleydb and more of a machine-local persistence layer?

Would it be feasible to replace Krati with Cassandra (or another datastore)?  

For sites already using a persistence layer, adding a new one is no fun.
