This project involves a management team of volunteers who each take a topic of interest and manage it with passion. The site will stand above all other ham radio sites by employing the latest technology and professional design/programming standards, developed by a team of community programmers who contribute their skills to the effort. The site will be something of which everyone involved can be proud to say they were a part.

BTW there are a lot of users for HRD. I have no financial interest in the program, other than I use it for may other ham radio activities such as satellite and general logging. I have had nothing but a great time using it. If you dont like it so be it.

I highly recommend the HP SFF desktops for ham radio. Here's a link to available ones on E-Bay. I had one with a RS232 DB9 serial port for the CW interface I bought years ago. I'm sad to say my new PC doesn't have one.

Why did I choose a gaming PC? The reason behind my decision to opt for a gaming PC primarily revolves around the exceptional CPU performance it offers and the price. While the machine hardware is certainly commendable, the Ryzen 9 3900x stands out with its remarkable capabilities, particularly when it comes to handling various business tasks. Additionally, this CPU is expected to deliver seamless streaming experiences, which is why I am eagerly anticipating resuming my YouTube streaming endeavors in the near future.

I posted a question on Ham Radio Deluxe support forum, mainly just to see how long it would take someone to reply with the correct answer and I'm happy to say it was only an hour or two before Ferry posted a direct link to the download I needed to fix the problem. So here it is: _redist.x86.exe

It's just a matter of downloading and installing the Microsoft package in the link above. The next time I tried HRD it loaded, yahoo!, but it gave me an error message about the license, so that's next.

Go to and use the email address associated with your purchase to retrieve your key and have it emailed to you. In the unlikely event that your key is not found, then contact the sales team at sa...@hrdsoftwarellc.com and they will get one generated for you and send it back to you via email.

There's nothing like a well oiled machine and when it comes to HRD sometimes it is really surprising. 1 I appreciated they have made it so easy to retrieve license keys, because it didn't use to be that way. 2. I appreciate the support forum is active and knowledgeable Hams take time to answer questions.

Stay tuned for an upcoming comparison video, where we'll dive into the IC-7610 and Elecraft K3S transceivers' performance. Together, we'll assess their audio quality and signal strength on a specific band, ensuring a comprehensive evaluation. Don't forget to subscribe and you'll be notified when the video is released!

I recently had the same issues on a new computer that I plan to use portable. I had a couple of old computers taking up part of my total of 5 licenses. No big deal to delete them. The thing I wanted to share is my conversion to the MariaDB database. I was having all kinds of speed and memory problems with the HRD database. I found a Forum suggestion that said the fix was a different database. I only have 16,000 records but apparently that is enough to bog the system down. I followed the 25 pages of screen shot instructions and switched over to MariaBD. Problem solved! Everything runs fast and perfectly.

I am running Windows 10 for quite some time on my Surface Pad 3 as I am a developer and need to test my own software on it. Since the final release, I have not had any issue with windows 10 with the exception of HRD. All my other HAM Software runs just fine (MixW even the SDR # and SDR Console along with the different plugins). My impression from Windows 10 is even that it is more compatible to older Windows version than any other.

do a search for ham radio deluxe blacklist. You were a lucky one if they gave you back the 50 bucks. They did worse to others. N2SUB went public and there are several 150 plus page threads until of course Fred at qrz locks them (qrz and hrd are in a partnership even though qrz says no, on older posts he says yes.) QRZ and HRD both need to just go away.
On a more positive note, I also love fldigi but lately have been using dx lab. You may want to try that one.

At the time HRD was being developed by Simon Brown. He did a very excellent Job with the software and had it easily hooked up to my FT-857D and was logging contacts with it in no time. I then notice Digital Master 780 (DM780) and it opened my eyes up to the world of digital communications. I purchased a soundcard interface and was tearing up PSK, RTTY, FELD HELL and all sorts of other modes. I was now more on digital than compared to SSB with thanks to HRD.

It appears HRD is doubling down in attempts to remove and/or coverup what happened. According to Jim, Rich Rhul (W4PC) called him on the phone and left him a voice mail where Rick threatened to sue him and will have Fred (Owner of QRZ.com) remove the thread. A short time later, the thread on QRZ.com was removed.

However it was too late. Since then news of what happened were posted on eham.net and the amateur radio subreddit over on reddit.com. As a moderator of the subreddit, this where I started following the story. At first I thought this was an isolated incident and that maybe the support staffer was having a bad day.

We regret that we have been unable to maintain our high standards of quality in our service to one of our customers. I have reached out to this customer to correct this regrettable situation. I am looking forward to speaking with him.

The future and their actions will set a precedence on what type of company they will be. I really do hope HRD recovers and even prosper from what happened. There are thousands of satisfied customers, hopefully there will be thousands more. Only time will tell.

In our heavily digital world there are some expectations with respect to the interoperability of devices and software. Makers and problem solvers have always made up amateur radio. So it is common to find stations made up of several small solutions roped together via adapters and cables. Getting to a somewhat clean setup with minimal patches is a challenge.

In a previous post, my goal was to be able to operate my basement station remotely from our three-season room. It was during this effort that a lot of research went into finding the simplest ways to connect ham-shack-devices. The setup described here is more about maximizing the performance and ease-of-use of my basement-shack when operating it locally.

Running Ham Radio Deluxe (HRD) as my go-to logging system, rig control, and digital-modes manager, creates the foundation for what everything else would hopefully connect to. During my studies of SDR and acquisition of an SDRplay RSP1a, I learned how to refurbish virtual serial ports into connectors. This document details the SDRplay.

To keep the process of starting up my station clean and simple, I use a batch file to launch the applications. With the batch file in place, you can add a shortcut to the start menu for a 1-click launch. The batch file I use looks like this. (Note that your installation directories will vary.):

John Pizzarelli is a world-renowned jazz guitarist and singer who has established himself as one of the prime interpreters of the Great American Songbook and beyond, bringing to his work the cool jazz flavor of his brilliant guitar playing and singing. Pizzarelli started playing guitar at age six, following in the tradition of his father, the legendary jazz guitarist, Bucky Pizzarelli. He began exploring jazz with his father as a teenager, and was able to perform with a number of great jazz musicians who would be a major influence on his work, including Benny Goodman, Les Paul, Zoot Sims, Clark Terry and Slam Stewart. John went out on his own after recording My Blue Heaven for Chesky Records in 1990, then toured extensively, playing clubs and concert halls, opening for such greats as Dave Brubeck, Ramsey Lewis and Rosemary Clooney. In 1993, he opened for Frank Sinatra's international tour and then joined in the celebration for his 80th birthday at Carnegie Hall. Most recently, he has recorded a string of successful CDs for Telarc International including his 2008 GRAMMY Award nominated With A Song In My Heart , which celebrates the music of legendary composer Richard Rodgers, and a popular TV commercial for Foxwoods Casino has made Pizzarelli a recognizable face. The singer-guitarist's latest album, Double Exposure , is a collection of tunes by some of the great pop songwriters of his own generation that are framed squarely within traditional jazz arrangements. A veteran radio personality, Pizzarelli hosted "New York Tonight" on WNEW from 1984 to 1988. He also successfully launched a nationally syndicated radio program "Radio Deluxe with John Pizzarelli," co-hosted with his wife, Broadway star Jessica Molaskey. Pizzarelli performs annual engagements at the Caf Carlyle with Jessica Molaskey and at Birdland with his jazz combo. He continues to tour throughout the United States, Europe, South America and Japan, performing classic pop, jazz and swing, while setting the standard for stylish modern jazz.

Jane Monheit is renowned as one of the worlds most beloved and accomplished song stylists and has been a leading light in both the jazz and cabaret worlds since emerging as a finalist in the Thelonious Monk Institute's 1998 vocal competition. She released her debut album, "Never Never Land," in 2000, which remained on the Billboard Jazz chart for over a year and was voted Best Debut Recording by the members of the Jazz Journalists Association. Her second release, "Come Dream With Me," came just a year later, landed atop the Billboard Jazz charts, and earned a Grammy nomination for Vince Mendoza for "Best Instrumental Arrangement Accompanying Vocals" (as did 2003's "In The Sun" for Mendoza's Arrangement of "Since You've Asked"). Her critically-lauded, "Surrender" also debuted at number one on the Billboard Jazz charts. Monheit's latest is the just-released "The Heart Of The Matter," the vocalist's ninth studio album. The disc features a wide-ranging choice of material, unique arrangements, and inspired performances and interpretations. The diverse and very personal set of songs includes both familiar standards and compositions by Lennon/McCartney, Randy Newman, two songs by Ivan Lins, recorded in the original Portuguese, and, for the first time, a Monheit original.
