HiJustin I was just looking for same thing. I bought mhl to hdmi cable but it does not fit my tablet. Apparently there us no cable that will fit Tab A. Everything seems to point to using chromecast. Not done that before but will give it a go.
Hi, i am not from your country but i have a galaxy tab A and S4, if my solutions is not good please give me the Samsung link for your device i want to be sure of my answer). If my answers are OK please click on the thumb to show other people they can find the solution here..
I recently purchased the tab a 2019 10.1. I bought the USBC to HDMI adapter that is supposed to allow you to connect your tablet to your TV via HDMI. Unfortunately it's not working. I thought it was the adapter until I tried someone else's device with that same adapter and the same cable, and it worked just fine. I'm currently chatting with Samsung again trying to figure out what the problem is. Supposedly it's as simple as plug-and-play, but it's not working.
Which model of the tab a do you have question about the 2016 or the 2019? Samsung is telling me that the 2019 model does not support HDMI output unless you can use Smart View with another Samsung device like a Samsung TV.
i have a galaxy s3 with cyanogenmod 10.2 ROM installed i love it way more faster then the stock rom better battery life and way more features. i ordered a mhl to hdmi cable the other day. the problem is im not sure if my ROM supports that feature and its hard to find one that does. ive heard chameleon supports it but cant find a trusted source. i was wondering if you guys knew of any custom ROMS that support this feature?
just FYI, if you ordered a non-samsung MHL adapter you will need a samsung adapter for the connection. Many come with this adapter already but its because Samsung uses 7 pins instead of the usual 5. it frustrated me to no end trying to get my MHL adapter to work until i noticed this extra little doggle in my box marked samsung heh.
i searched this also and yup only ROM that is based on the official samsung firmware support MHL to HDMI since samsung is so selfish to release their source code, but i want the latest android version so i found on XDA a guy able to port ROM from official Samsung Galaxy Note II N7100%uFEFF android 4.4.2 to galaxy s3 i9300 with bloatware already remove and working MHL to HDMI so far using it for weeks and no problem at all now i can use my S3 as a game console to android games on TV with the help of a ps3 controller.
