Montgomery Tournament

Hey guys,
I just got an email back from the guy in charge of the tournament in Montgomery next weekend and he said we have a spot if we want it. The tournament has some good teams playing in it and it would be a great chance for us to go out and get some competitive experience as a team. We had 16 guys that said they wanted to go to the tournament this weekend before everything fell apart and hopefully we can get just as many committed to next weekend. I know next weekend is the week before exams but hopefully we can all still find a way to squeeze some studying in around the tournament, if not I completely understand. It would be great to get a headcount so we have an idea of what we are doing ASAP.

Yeah, the tournament in ECU isn't happening and the one in UNC is full. So unless UNC decides to open a spot for us it doesn't look like we have a tournament to go to this weekend. Like I said before the tournament in Montgomery looks like a lot of fun and probably would have been the best choice of the three anyways.

So right now we have:
1) Shane Underwood
2) Mark Connolly
3) Dalton Barton
4) John Johnston
5) Zach Price
6) Hunter Hamvas
We still need 4 mores guys to commit before I can send an email back saying that we are in. I know a few guys at practice said they might be able to go and there were also a number of people not at practice that might want to go as well. Please email me so that I have it written down. Like I said, I just need a few more commits, and soon (by like Friday), so I can let the guy in Montgomery know. I know the A-team is willing to send a couple of guys with us as well. This tournament is going to be a lot of fun guys and will be a great opportunity for the team to come together and work towards really building some good chemistry (Plus they are hosting a party one of the nights).
On another note, tonight the results for captains were announced and for now we are running a two captain squad. I would like to congratulate Mark and Dalton for being selected to lead the team. That being said, practices are going to be split from now on. We will not spend the whole practice doing drills will the A-team and then scrimmaging with them. This is to our advantage. Our captains now have the time to lead our team in drills that will help bring us together and focus on the things that we really need to work on. With that, we also need to make sure that we have good attendance so that everyone is there to learn what we are going over and to condition together. This team has incredible potential and I really look forward to playing some great ultimate with you guys. Have a great week and do well on those test.

P.S. Our A-team has a huge showcase game against South Carolina's A-team on Friday at 7. If you do not have anything going on I strongly encourage you show, we could even do it together, and support the team and watch a great game of Ultimate. Also, we are looking to have a B-team get get together, aforementioned, Friday night. Logistics will be discussed in further emails.

How far away is the tournament?

4 hours and 39 minutes (according to google maps). So it is actually closer than the ECU one would have been. Also, our women's team plays at 6:00 (unless I am greatly mistaken) so we should take this opportunity to steal their hearts... or at least show up to cheer them on, whichever you prefer.
