For anybody who's looking for some motivation/see what other teams are
doing, you should check out Illinois Club website and some of their
recent results. Also, note that they just got waxed pretty strong by
Wisconsin despite the fact that they have 6 guys sub 4:15 in the 1500
(3 sub 4:04 and 1 at 3:58). This is the team that took 4th at last
year's nationals and 3 of their top 5 now weren't top 7 at last year's
championships.

I know I haven't been posting my training, thanks to a quad tendon
injury, but its healing up well and I should be off the bike and
building back up sometime mid-week. I'd certainly encourage everyone
else to start posting their summer mileage so we can all see where
each other is at and try to put a strong base in to wreck Wisconsin
and Illinois next fall.

My training obviously has nothing to do with running since I can't run
but I just thought that I would
let you all know what my current training schedule is looking like.
Right now I am currently swimming
4-5k every at 5am every morning and then spinning for anywhere from
1-3 hrs after work.

I hope that you are all getting in the base mileage that is so crucial
if you want to have an excellent
cross-country season, which is going to be necessary if we want to
compete for a national title at
nationals. I know that its only early June but if we are going to take
nationals serious then it's time
to start training seriously. I'm not telling you to go run a
ridiculous pace for your base training; I am
telling you to get in serious base training, 70+ miles/week.

If any of you need schedules you can just post here on the group page,
email me, or call me
(864) 266-0698 and I can get those to you. Otherwise, enjoy the
running and try avoiding injuries.

Kevin
