SLISW provides a forum for the Latin American Software Engineering
community to exchange ideas, experiences and research results among
teachers, researchers, industry professionals and students. The event is
part of XLIV CLEI. Original contributions are sought in the broad
framework of Software Engineering, comprising academic research,
industrial and business applications that both make an impact and
provide lessons on their development.

SLIOIA - Latin American Symposium on Operations Research and Artificial
Intelligence
SLIOIA provides a forum for the Artificial Intelligence and Operations
Research communities to exchange ideas, experiences and research results
among teachers, researchers, students and industry professionals. The
event is part of XLIV CLEI. Original contributions are sought in the
diverse areas of Artificial Intelligence and Operations Research,
comprising academic research, industrial and business applications that
both make an impact and provide lessons on their development.

SLIS - Latin American Symposium on Computing and Society
SLIS is an event that aims at studying, using an interdisciplinary
approach, how information and communication technologies (e.g. computer
science and digital technologies) and our Latin American societies
relate (how they articulate and co-construct themselves). The event is
part of XLIV CLEI. Original contributions are sought in the field of
social studies of information and communication technologies and their
relationship to the construction of our societies (including, but not
limited to, historical, sociological, economic, juridical and political
studies).

SLMDI - Latin American Symposium on Data and Information Management
SLMDI brings together the Latin American community and proposes an
interdisciplinary approach to the problems and socio-technical practices
that emerge from the rapid advance of information and communication
technologies in society. The event is part of XLIV CLEI. It is an event
dedicated to the discussion of new methods in the area of data and
information management. It takes a broad view of its theme, stretching
from data organisation, modelling and recovery to data and information
recovery and analysis.

SLPNASO - Latin American Symposium on Business Processes, Architectures
and Organisational Systems
SLPNASO is an event that brings together the Latin American community
and proposes an interdisciplinary approach to the socio-technical
problems and practices that emerge from the fast advance of information
and communication technologies in the society. The event is part of XLIV
CLEI. This symposium focuses on the advances in the disciplines of
Business Processes, Architectures, and Organisational Systems, broadly
considering aspects of modelling, design, implementation, execution and
evaluation of distributed, complex, collaborative and interoperable
software systems.

SLCGRVPI - Latin American Symposium on Computer Graphics, Virtual
Reality and Image Processing
SLCGRVPI is an event that brings together the Latin American community
and proposes an interdisciplinary approach to the socio-technical
problems and practices that emerge from the rapid advance of information
and communication technologies in the society. The event is part of XLIV
CLEI. Original contributions are sought related to Computer Graphics,
Virtual, Augmented and Mixed Reality, and Image Processing, comprising
academic research, industrial and business applications that make an
impact and provide lessons on their development.

SLIHS - Latin American Symposium on Infrastructure, Hardware and Software
SLIHS is an event that brings together the Latin American community and
proposes an interdisciplinary approach to the socio-technical problems
and practices that emerge from the rapid advance of information and
communication technologies in the society. The event is part of XLIV
CLEI. Original contributions are sought in the areas of of Network
Infrastructure, Computer Architecture, High-Performance Computing, and
Cloud Computing, comprising academic research as well as industrial and
business applications that make an impact and provide lessons on their
development.

SLTC - Latin American Symposium on Theory of Computation
SLTC is an event that brings together the Latin American community of
researchers in Theory of Computation. The event is part of XLIV CLEI.
This symposium focuses on the advances in the disciplines of Theory of
Algorithms, Computability and Complexity, Automata and Formal Languages,
Principles and Semantics of Programming Languages, Concurrency Models,
Security and Mobility, Logic and its Applications to Computing, Formal
Models for Requirements, Components and Architectures of Software,
Foundations and Formal Techniques for Software Analysis, Type Theory,
and Theory of Categories for Computer Science.

XXVI SIESC - Iberoamerican Congress on Higher Education in Computing
SIESC is an event that brings together the Latin American community
interested in higher education in computing. The event is part of XLIV
CLEI. This symposium focuses on interdisciplinary factors in computing
and informatics education, education at the beginning of a career in
computer science (at the tertiary or university levels) and didactics of
computer science: different theoretical approaches and/or practical
applications, types of methodology and models of university-company
partnerships.

Other CLEI-sponsored Events

XXV CLTM - Latin American Contest of Master Thesis
The XXV CLTM is an annual event that will be held as part of CLEI 2018.
The objective is to showcase the work of Latin American students who
have recently completed their Master's thesis in computing.

IV CLTD - Latin American Contest of Doctoral Thesis
The IV CLTD aims at disseminating the work of Latin American students
who have recently completed their Doctoral Theses in Computing and
Informatics. By that is meant a thesis whose content is related to any
of the areas described in IEEE / ACM documents on the computing curriculum

X LAWCC - Latin American Women in Computing Congress
The X LAWCC will be held as part of XLIV CLEI. Its main objective is to
highlight the
research, interests, and achievements of women in the various areas of
computing, with the intention of encouraging the active participation of
more women. The paper presentations will hopefully help to identify the
challenges women face in the area of Information and Communications
Technologies (ICT), teaching, labor market and research. LAWCC seeks
ways to address recurrent problems related to gender and foster dialogue
with society on these matters.

VIII WNAPC - Workshop on Accreditation and Nomenclature of Computing
Programs
VIII WNAPC brings together academics, administrators and professors from
Latin America, Spain and the United States to examine the variation of
names of computing programs in relation to their contents and to
elaborate proposals on that matter. Due to this variation, there is a
need to reach a joint agreement on competencies that represent the main
careers of the Computing area. The event aims at identifying specific
content differences in undergraduate computing careers across several
Latin American countries, as well as at strengthening existing de facto
standards. The workshop organisers consider it very important that
undergraduate programs be coherent in their content, the set of skills
they foster, the degrees they award and the training of the faculty. The
organisers believe that such a coherence would increase the mobility of
professionals within the region and also outwards, greatly increasing
the level of understanding of who we form in our programs. Industry's
medium-term interest is also contemplated, as it will simplify the
development of projects in more than one country.

Other satellite event

X LANC - Latin American Networking Conference

LANC is an event with IFIP participation in cooperation with ACM SIGCOMM
and organized together with XLIV CLEI.
