Flex, Adobe and ColdFusion User Group Members, and Web SIG attendees,

Brian Meloche here... I thought I'd send this out to everyone at once, so forgive me if you get multiple copies.

This is a final reminder on this Google group that we have a meeting Thursday at 6:30pm, which is a combined meeting of the Flex, ColdFusion and Adobe user groups.

If you come early, pizza will be served at 6pm, so you'll have time to eat, and chat with other developers.

October, 2008 Meeting:

The October meeting will be held on Thursday, October 09, 2008, from 6:30PM - 8:30PM, at the offices of Brulant, Inc., located at 3700 Park East Drive, Beachwood, OH, 44122. This is a SPECIAL JOINT MEETING between the Cleveland Flex User's Group, the Cleveland Adobe Users Group, and the Cleveland ColdFusion Users Group.

Topic: How To Architect Flex Applications

• We are very pleased to welcome Joey Lott to present to a combined Cleveland Flex User's Group, Cleveland ColdFusion User Group, and Cleveland Adobe User Group audience.
• When building Flex applications the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. You may know how to work with the pieces of Flex (layout, styling components, data components, etc.) but it's still rather easy to get tangled up and frustrated when trying to stitch the piece together into a coherent application. In this presentation we'll look at strategies you can use to build Flex applications in the best way possible. Rather than presenting one boiler plate solution as the "right way" this presentation looks at the bigger picture and common patterns you can employ..
• This meeting is at a new location, Brulant, Inc. (recently acquired by Rosetta) in Beachwood, as our normal Lodestone location is unavailable for the date of our presentation.

About our speaker:

• Joey Lott is a founding partner of The Morphic Group, a Flex and Flash consulting company. At The Morphic Group Joey serves as a technology director, building some of today's most innovative Flex applications and advocating for the use and adoption of agile software development methodologies. He has written many books on Flex and Flash-related technologies, including Programming Flex 3, ActionScript 3 Cookbook, Adobe AIR in Action, and Advanced ActionScript 3 with Design Patterns.
