how to extend tha map?

hi,
i have i doubt.
we r doing map related applications.
this is my problem.
In map,Default extend is some particular place.
now i want to search something,ie (example)i search that where is the
fire service offices.the result is displayed in points in map.
sometimes the point is going outside the default the extend area.
now i want to focus all the points.
how to extend tha map which is related the mapoints?
any samples?

Depends on the Map API/SDK your are utilizing:

There is a sample called - Find Tasks - Zoom to Found Features

A couple of other solutions are the Google and Yahoo Flex APIs - they
all have similar capabilities.
You will have to reference there APIs for further details on how to
implement it with them.
