For our October meeting we are privileged to have author Joey Lott
presenting on "How To Architect Flex Applications". Joey is traveling
from coast to coast on his book tour and we are very glad he was able
to include Cleveland in his itinerary.
This will be a joint meeting hosted by the Cleveland Flex, ColdFusion
and Adobe user groups.
This is free and you do not have to be a member to attend. We only ask
you to RSVP so we have enough food and seats for the meeting. Quite a
few people have already signed up so please be sure and rsvp if you
are planning on attending.
Joey Lott will be presenting on the following topic:
When building Flex applications the whole is greater than the sum of
its parts. You may know how to work with the pieces of Flex (layout,
styling components, data components, etc.) but it's still rather easy
to get tangled up and frustrated when trying to stitch the piece
together into a coherent application. In this presentation we'll look
at strategies you can use to build Flex applications in the best way
possible. Rather than presenting one boiler plate solution as the
"right way" this presentation looks at the bigger picture and common
patterns you can employ.
About Joey Lott:
Joey Lott is a founding partner of The Morphic Group, a Flex and Flash
consulting company. At The Morphic Group Joey serves as a technology
director, building some of today's most innovative Flex applications
and advocating for the use and adoption of agile software development
methodologies. He has written many books on Flex and Flash-related
technologies, including Programming Flex 3, ActionScript 3 Cookbook,
Adobe AIR in Action, and Advanced ActionScript 3 with Design Patterns.
The meeting is at a new location - the offices of Brulant (recently
acquired by Rosetta) - 3700 Park East Drive, Beachwood, OH 44122 at
6:30pm. This location is ONLY for this meeting. Next month our
meetings will continue at our normal location at the Snow Rd. branch
of the Cuyahoga County Library.
