A B2 level English test is an assessment designed to measure your language proficiency according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). This level corresponds to an upper-intermediate level, indicating that you have a good command of the English language. It can be considered a stepping stone between intermediate and advanced levels.

Taking a B2 level English test is crucial for several reasons. Firstly, it allows you to assess your current level of English accurately. By understanding your strengths and weaknesses, you can focus your efforts on areas that need improvement. Secondly, a B2 level test provides an official certification of your English language skills. This certification can be advantageous when applying for academic programs, job opportunities, or immigration purposes.

Begin by familiarizing yourself with the structure and format of the B2 level English test. Whether it's the Cambridge English exam or an online test, understanding the sections, time limits, and question types will help you feel more confident on test day.

Since the B2 level test assesses your language skills comprehensively, it's essential to review grammar rules and expand your vocabulary. Pay attention to verb tenses, conditionals, reported speech, and passive voice, as these topics often appear on the test.

To improve your reading and listening skills, practice regularly by reading articles, books, and listening to podcasts or audio materials. Pay attention to the main ideas, details, and overall comprehension. This will help you develop the necessary skills to understand complex English texts and conversations.

To excel in the speaking and writing sections, focus on improving your fluency, accuracy, and coherence. Engage in conversations with native English speakers, participate in language exchange programs, and practice writing essays or reports. This will help you become more comfortable expressing your thoughts and ideas in English.

One of the most effective ways to prepare for a B2 level English test is by taking practice tests. These mock exams simulate the actual test conditions and give you an opportunity to assess your progress. Analyze your results, identify areas that require improvement, and adjust your study plan accordingly.

The older upper-intermediate lessons (pre 2015) are way easier than the newer ones (like last 3-4 years). In general I feel the level has gone up a bit - so starting with older stuff is usually easier than the newest lessons (also for intermediate and advanced).

Over the years we have experienced some shifts in the academic levels, for example the upper-intermediate lessons became harder due to the hiatus of media level lessons in around 2015. After 2018, however, we reintroduced the media level and tried to produce easier upper-intermediate lessons that are more comparable to the ones pre 2015. So I would also suggest starting with pre 2015 lessons, move on to post 2018, and then tackle the ones in the years between.
