Just an update that the first try didn't work, probably because
"GitHub will block pushes where a single file is larger than 100MiB"

Will the move to github also mean a move to fork/commit/pull request model of incorporating contributions? That's my understanding of how most github projects work. Or do we plan to continue using the centralized repo model with designated committers)?

Sorry about letting this slip through the cracks. Yeah, my guess is
we'll move towards a pull-request workflow.

But first I've got to figure out how to trim the bits of the ClearTK
history that are bigger than what GitHub allows.

We're planning to move DKPro Core and friends to GitHub too, so I'm very
curious about all the pitfalls.

There was something over 100MB in the history of the repository, a
ClearNLP resource file that wasn't hosted anywhere else at the time. I
used the BFG (https://rtyley.github.io/bfg-repo-cleaner/) to strip
that out of the history, and also to remove the apidocs directory
(which I then put into the gh-pages branch, where GitHub wants it).

I believe I now have everything that was in the code repository migrated over:

https://github.com/bethard/cleartk (all the code except that one
problematic file and the apidocs directory)
http://bethard.github.io/cleartk/ (javadocs are linked from here)

Lots of remaining tasks:

* Add all the Google Code committers as Collaborators. I've done so
for those of you I could find, but I'm still missing some people's
GitHub usernames (e.g. Philip Ogren's)

* Migrate the issues from Google Code

* Migrate the wiki pages from Google Code, probably to gh-pages since
we don't actually use a Wiki

* Fix the Maven configuration to point to GitHub instead of Google Code
