The film is divided into three chapters, each focusing on Raj's relationship with one of the women. The first chapter is set in 1996, when Raj meets Mahi (Minissha Lamba), a sweet and innocent girl who believes in fairy-tale romance. Raj pretends to be her prince charming and wins her heart, only to break it later when she overhears him boasting about his conquest to his friends. Mahi is devastated and loses her faith in love.
The second chapter is set in 2002, when Raj moves to Mumbai and becomes a successful game developer. He meets Radhika (Bipasha Basu), an aspiring model and actress who is ambitious and confident. The third chapter is set in 2008, when Raj travels to Sydney for his new project. He meets Gayatri (Deepika Padukone), a business student who also works as a taxi driver. Gayatri is independent and modern, who does not believe in marriage or love. Raj falls in love with her and proposes to her, but she rejects him. Raj is shattered and realizes that he has been hurting the women he loved in the past.
