Itis the movement between the negative and positive poles that creates electricity. It is the attraction between the male and the female that creates new life. The dynamics of the universe are dialectical, apparently in a conflict, but occurring within a larger context of unity and wholeness. This is the understanding of the Tantra vision.

The feeling of being alive and at One with everything is available through the path of Tantra. When your heart is open and you are making love, there is no separation between you, your partner and God. This is healing sex. This is connecting with the Divine. And the important thing to develop is the sense that this sacred experience is available in all instants. It is not limited to sex.

These seven centers, these seven chakras Yoga and Tantra have talked about down the ages, are nothing but five knots in your body electric current. They can be changed; they can be rearranged. They can be given a new shape, form. Two lovers can be transformed so deeply that all their seven centers can start meeting.

Samsara - our conditioned existence in the perpetual cycle of habitual tendencies and nirvana - genuine freedom from such an existence- are nothing but different manifestations of a basic continuum. So this continuity of consciousness us always present. This is the meaning of tantra.

In your body, there exists a subtle current of electricity, very subtle. But the subtler it is, the deeper it goes. It is not very visible. Scientists say that all the electricity that is in your body, if put together, can be used to light a five-candle bulb. It is not much. Quantitatively it is not much, quantitatively the atom is not much, but qualitatively... If it explodes, it has tremendous energy in it.

Tantra is the hot blood of spiritual practice. It smashes the taboo against unreasonable happiness; a thunderbolt path, swift, joyful, and fierce. There is no authentic Tantra without profound commitment, discipline, courage, and a sense of wild, foolhardy, fearless abandon.

Tantra says be real, be authentic to yourself. Your happiness is not bad; it is good. It is not sin! Only sadness is sin, only to be miserable is sin. To be happy is virtue because a happy person will not create unhappiness for others. Only a happy person can be a ground for others' happiness.

Trust, love, what we call sexy, who we trust in a business situation, are all based on how open we are. Openness is bodily openness, muscular relaxation, heart openness as opposed to hiding behind some emotional wall, and spiritual openness, which is actually feeling so fully into the moment that there's no separation between you and the entire moment.

There is no big mystery to Tantra. It is in the allowance and grace of the breath. Breathe easy and naturally and you will open the door to a sacred intent. With this sacred intent, love making becomes spiritual and holy. You open the gateway to total joy and you embrace the divine, erotic impulse. So breathe and relax. This is tantra.

A unifying factor between the different traditions and lineages of Tantra, is that it is feminine in nature. It acknowledges the feminine as the basis from which all the practices spring. Therefore, Tantra is by its nature, the understanding that all phenomenal existence, the universe, or cosmos, that we experience is feminine in nature.

Tantra is spiritual, not religious. It deals with the spirit. Religion is just an applied body of doctrines that's believed or not believed by one or more individuals. Spirituality is the science of metaphysics.

Sting is not only a singer and songwriter, he's also an occasional actor, having appeared in quite a few movies over the years. But during his appearance this Thursday night on the series Inside the Actors Studio,\" he ended up having to talk to host James Lipton, not about his craft, but about his sex life.

Specifically, Lipton asked Sting about his infamous quote regarding \"tantric sex,\" in which he said he and his wife Trudie Styler allegedly had eight-hour lovemaking sessions. Sting has since backpedaled, saying the whole thing was a joke, but in an advance clip from the episode, Lipton still insisted he explain to the audience of young people just what he meant.

\"If we had seven hours, I would demonstrate,\" Sting said, to huge laughs and cheers. \"Maybe not. But there is some truth to it. The idea of tantric sex is a spiritual act. I don't know any purer and better way of expressing a love for another individual than sharing that wonderful, I call it, 'sacrament.' I would stand by it. Not seven hours, but the idea.\"

Sting's appearance on \"Inside the Actors Studio,\" which airs Thursday night on Bravo, is mostly focused on the opening of his first Broadway musical \"The Last Ship.\" He wrote the music for the show, which is based on his own childhood growing up in a shipbuilding town in the north of England.

Before we dive deep into the subject, one thing needs to be said beforehand. Tantra itself says that nothing that can be said in words, or that our minds are capable of understanding, is sufficient to describe or understand the absolute truth.

Keeping this in mind, we will paraphrase here and try to approach a little idea of what the Nondual Philosophy of Shaiva Tantra wants us to understand. And she herself says that language is supportive in the sense that it can guide us to an experience that is beyond words; into the experience of reality itself. I would like to start with a quote from the book 'Tantra Illuminated':

"To step into the world of Śaiva Tantra is to enter a world of magic and mystery. Mind-expanding philosophy and arcane rites, pantheons of fierce goddesses embodied in mystic syllables, energy diagrams that map the many dimensions of reality, visualizations of power centers within the body, gestures that express the purest forms of consciousness, nectarean experiences of the sheerest ecstasy, wielders of supernatural power, and concepts that challenge the fundamental norms of ordinary society... In short, it is a world that encompasses the entire range of human spiritual... activity."

Not exactly an understatement, is it? To have it noted, there are several lineages of the Tantra tradition, we are dedicated to Shaiva Tantra (to be more specific, the Kuala Trika Lineage).

Tantra is the direct experience of the sacred reality represented by Śiva and Śakti. Śiva as pure consciousness that underlies everything and Śakti as its living energy that manifests the whole universe. With this worldview also comes spiritual practices, such as contemplation on the worldview itself (philosophy), meditation, yoga exercises of the subtle body, and sharpening of the senses. The goal of these practices is to realize the divinity in all things, including self-realization, in order to attain worldly and spiritual liberation.

At first it seems confusing, but Shiva and Shakti are one. However, they represent two different aspects of reality, (one of which is predominant in every experience).Shiva is also described as the light of awareness, as potential, as beyond space and time and inaccessible through our senses. Whereas Shakti is seen as the personified feminine divinity, representing the entire universe in all its material forms. The experience of these two aspects is the experience of absolute reality, which is enstatic, contracting and leading inwards, surrendering to everything, and ecstatic, leading outwards and expressing how nature is. According to Tantra, it is necessary to know both sides in order to have a complete experience of the Absolute and to enjoy true spiritual freedom.

Receiving an initiation, having a master, and living in a community of like-minded practitioners is also considered essential and contributes to the classification with respect to other traditions. While meditation and mantras are very important, they cannot be clearly attributed to one tradition. However, the strong view (at least in the past) that everything in life can be treated as a spiritual practice, even everyday activities such as cleaning the house, preparing food, or working, as well as the very detailed yoga practices with the subtle body, draw the picture of Tantra more accurately.

The body is not presented as an obstacle as in other movements such as Classical Yoga, no, the body is not impure or associated with sin, but serves as an instrument to experience the sacredness in everything - sometimes by means of the senses of the body. So these senses serve us as yogis and are not there just to get rid of them or to be seen as annoying distractions.

This is very different from the more ascetic yoga practices that have been taught and practiced for centuries until today. On the other hand, it does not mean that we do not need to do anything to achieve something, discipline is still an attribute that is very helpful for the path and can be used to achieve great results.

Our heart beats for the yogic tradition, therefore we very much enjoy to share the practices and wisdom of Yoga. The Signature Retreat is our well tested retreat structure that allows you to combine a beach holiday with an inward yoga journey. It's a place to reconnect to yourself, to strenghten the body, deeply relax the mind and meet like-minded people.

The Yoga Immersion Retreats are designed to explore a specific yogic topic in depth. We still provide a very similar structure of daily classes, meditations and activities, yet the lectures and workshops are themed around one yogic teaching. You still get a great beach-holiday experience, yet with the opportunity to immerse on your spiritual journey of self exploration.

I had my first real orgasm in Costa Rica, just four months after my 38th birthday. Please believe, I've busted my share of nuts in my teens and 20s. But none were like this. I remember neither the suspenseful Before nor the delirious After of those prior. But in that room, under the ephemeral chime of 50 Black women coming, I, too, arrived. The rolling chorus of ecstatic cries invited me to a hidden part of myself.
