In this crazy world, sleep sex is quite common. You walk (either asleep or awake or half-asleep) to another bed, and drift back to sleep. But because most people sleep in homes with their families, you usually have sleep sex with another member of your family. Fathers and daughters sleep under the same roof, and so do brothers and sisters. Many family members get into bed with each other, thinking that they're just going to sleep. So most sleep sex is unintentional incest.

(NewsCore) - Canadian scientists discovered Sexsomnia, the sleep disorder which sees people having sex while sleeping, is more common than previously thought, the Toronto Star newspaper reported Monday.

Research at the Sleep Research Laboratory at the University Health Network’s Toronto Western Hospital, found one in 12 patients reported engaging in sexual activity while sleeping.

The research was due to be presented Monday in San Antonio at the SLEEP 2010 conference, an annual meeting of clinicians and scientists in the field of sleep medicine and sleep research.

Sexsomniacs may complain of not feeling rested, but do not know that they had sex while sleeping.

The review found it was more common in men than in women -- about 11 percent versus four percent.

"We thought it was rare," said the laboratory’s staff scientist Sharon Chung. "It’s a lot more common than we thought."

Very strange, very strange. I wonder how many pregnancies have
resulted from "sleep sex"?
