OK for all my loyal customers here :)

Feel free to try out my new UI:

It does edited amazon currently (OK probably other things, basically anything except hulu/netflix, which are to come later hopefully).

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r9AYOFKUDlg shows how to even do some "overlay shapes" over the video.  Which I *believe* is allowable based on the Family Movie act of 2005, but IANAL :)

If you want to kick the tires and get back to me, here's some tasks:

Try adding a new song.  Then add some edits to it.  Does it work?  What's not intuitive?

Thanks!

Also please join this facebook group, most of the discussion of "play it my way" will probably be there:
Thanks!

Very nice. It's shaping up. Do you foresee a time when mute edits can be added automatically through subtitle files?

I went ahead and coded it up.  Which was interesting.
Anyway now if you go to the movie "edit" page like
there's an "import from subtitles" option phew.
Questions ask away :)
I'm actually in talks with clearplay right now, we'll see how those go...the talks are my excuse for having launched yet, but we'll get there sooner or later :)

Yes! Very nice. I tried it with Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom on Amazon, and it works. The trouble is I couldn't find the right subtitle file, so the mutes are off by several seconds. Do you know any way to extract from Amazon? Or maybe if there's a way to adjust the timing?

Also, it looks like my file saved to the PIMW site. How can I delete it since it's wrong? Also, is there a way to customize the mutes without affecting everyone else?

I could not figure out a way to extract from Amazon unfortunately.  There is one chrome plugin that does this (http://movie-cleaner.com/about.html) but I can't really like dive in there as it were, so for now I guess we're stuck with having to adjust the timing before uploading it.
I went ahead and "reset" temple of doom, so you can try it again, I tried to make the instructions more clear:
https://playitmyway.inet2.org/view_url/87
Mind trying to see if it makes it more clear now the answer to the "adjust the timing" question?
Thanks!

It overwrites it if you upload a new one.  But that wasn't clear so I made a note of how to "revert" it on the upload section.
Let me know how else it could improve.

Are you uploading an .srt? Maybe you could attach it here.  Anyway, try another different subtitle file...

Interestingly, it seemed to work for me just now.  Double check you weren't uploading the .zip file?

Yes and no.  You can add a new "tag" and set its default as "do nothing" (for everyone else) then create a personalized content list for yourself that uses it.
For now it's pretty global...
In other news, fixed some bugs there and it's pretty much "live" now (for amazon/prime at least...basically anything except netflix LOL)

This is a really cool product! I've used a similar products in the past. One was called mute profanity which was an addon for the opensource program Kodi. If you're unfamiliar it automatically creates an EDL based on srt (subtitle files). I have a large list of EDL files from my movie library and they also include manual cuts for movie scenes. Where would be a good place to upload these EDL files for the community to share? I realize every movie file is different so the time stamps might be a little off, but it's better than nothing. Maybe in the future a script could be made to adjust the timing?

Also, is there a way to download your EDL files that are created?  It would be nice if I could benefit also from others work in creating EDL files.

Hi, and welcome to the group! I too used the Kodi addon, but I like this better. There's a small list started at https://playitmyway.inet2.org/

We've focused mostly on DVD EDL's to date...for file ones, I'd say just attach them to a message to this group maybe somebody'll be able to use them, thank you!

Hi there, Just wondering how to get the mute profanity working on Kodi. I tried the plugin to install it and it keeps failing on Kodi. Also, if you can upload the EDL some where that would be very handy e.g. you can upload it to a dropbox.com and post the link.

Thx

Here's a guide for use with an older version of Kodi. I stopped using it because too often it created an edl with random profanities that weren't even in the movie.

Hey dickalan, I know this post is 7 years old but I think a community database of EDL files would be awesome! Do you happen to still have them and want to share?
