Windows 10 subtitle issue?

I installed CEM 0.41.8 and absolutely love it! But, when I try a local mp4 test file and having created an EDL file (parsed with downloaded .srt and pasted in EDL) SMPlayer doesn't show any subtitles. Could it be that Windows 10 is a problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

That is odd, if you open the .srt file in notepad does it look all right?
