Help?

Hi! Thanks for the program; I'm hoping it will open up some otherwise unavailable options for my family. 

I'm very new to EDL files, but I've spent all day yesterday and today reading about them. I'm using your program and following the instructions for a local file without any obvious problems, but so far none of the profanity is blocked. 

I downloaded from Google source (not Git), and I'm using current versions of Windows 10 and Kodi media player. I tried using default locations, then tried putting the .mkv, .edl, and .srt files in the same folder and sharing the same name, and also tried changing the default .txt extension to .edl, but still it doesn't work.

I don't really know what question to ask, and I'm just sort of stuck. Will/can you help me? Much thanks in advance.
