Config.Com, Inc. Internet Services is now offering consumer
dial-in PPP
and ISDN access service.
Located at 124 North Chestnut Street in Ravenna, Ohio for central
Portage
County access and local representation.
The config.Com network is utilitizing a 3Com/USRobotics Total
Control
remote access server and a Cisco 2610 router on a FULL T-1
dataline direct
to the Internet backbone. Digital primary rate interface (PRI) and
digital T-1 trunk lines have also been added to
better support X2, V.90, 56K, ISDN protocols and also allow growth
toward
supporting ADSL and other future technologies. A 3Com Super Stack
3000 switch
was recently added to further improve the speed of our network.
In a nutshell:
Config.Com has developed a 100% digital network and only uses ISDN PRI
T-1 and T-1 digital trunk connections instead of analog or basic rate
interface (BRI) lines. This means our dial-in access lines are capable
of speeds faster than existing modem technology can handle;^)
Pricing starts at $9.95 for the first 10 hours or metered service
to
$17.95 monthly for unlimited attended access which drops to $13.95
if
paid yearly.

Unlimited attended access,
56k - 64K single channel connections at no extra charge,
1 POP3 email account and two community email forwarding accounts
i.e.
y...@clevelandohio.net (or any other of the many regional domains
we own),
6MB storage for email, files, and web site,
FTP & CGI access,
& Internet support.
We also support AOL's "Bring your own ISP", WebTV, and MSN.Net for
those
users who don't wish to pay long distance connection bills or wish
better
connections due to their overloaded bandwidth.
Now serving all prefixes local to 298, 274, and 346
Ameritech installed a NEW Mantua digital T-1 trunk circuit direct to the
config.com network on Friday the 8th. The Mantua dial-in configuration
was completed at 4:30pm on the 14th of June. The new dial-in number for
Mantua, Ohio is
330.274.4670 Please pass the word to your neighbors in the Mantua,
Aurora, and Hiram so they might improve their
connections by calling a central office circuit close to them.
A NEW Kent, Ohio Primary Rate Interface (PRI) ISDN T-1 circuit has been
installed and configured to better serve the Eastern Summit County, Ohio
communities including:
Akron, Aurora, Barberton, Brimfield, Coventry Township, Cuyahoga Falls,
Firestone Park, Goodyear Heights, Green, Highland Square, Hudson,
Kenmore, Kent, Lakemore, Mantua, Mogadore, Munroe Falls, Norton,
Peninsula, Ravenna, Rootstown, Silver Lake, Springfield Township, Stow,
Streetsboro, Tallmadge, & Twinsburg Township,
