Hi all,

As you're all busy trying to wrap things up by the end of the year, I wanted to reach out as soon as I could to let you know that the next CLCN meeting is scheduled for Friday, January 16, 2026 (yes, you read that correctly, 2026).

I'm excited to announce that I've reserved a room in our newly remodeled building, now named The Space and Cafe at Arapahoe Libraries, before it officially opens to the public.

This 29,000-square-foot facility was designed to meet a growing demand for public meeting space. It is located at 12855 E. Adam Aircraft Cir., Englewood and features a cafe, co-working space, meeting rooms and event space.  A segment of the building has been retained for library administrative use.

Please mark the date on your calendars and stay tuned for more details after the first of the year.

As promised, here are the details for the next CLCN meeting.

It is scheduled for Friday, January 16, 2026, from 9:00-12:00 at:

The Space and Cafe at Arapahoe Libraries
12855 East Adam Aircraft Circle
Englewood, CO 80112

Near Centennial Airport.  If you're traveling south on I-25, you can use exit #197 onto East Arapahoe Rd.  If you're traveling north on I-25, you can use exit #196 onto East Dry Creek Rd.  Either exit will get you to where you want to the location.

Via Arapahoe Road                              Via Dry Creek Rd.

Even though we're not meeting at a library, please plan on staying a bit later for a brief tour of this new facility.  We'll tour both the public meeting spaces (which will open to the general public on January 26th) and the Library Materials department (staff space), where our central sorter and media hotel are housed.  When arriving, please enter the building through the main entrance.  Because these doors are locked, someone will be there to meet you and direct you to Meeting Room B.  If it's not me meeting you there, please mention that you're with the CLCN group.  We'll have light refreshments and coffee ready for you as well.  If you have any problems, you can reach me on my cell phone number 303-917-8006.

A few of you have already responded that you'll be attending.  If you haven't already done so, please let me know if you plan on being there so that I have an idea of how many people to expect.  If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me.

Hi all,

I'm out in Grand Junction so I will likely have a difficult time ever getting to one of these on the Front Range. Is there ever an option for virtual attendance? Also if you ever want to do a meeting on the Western Slope, I'd be happy to host out here! Ha.

Thanks,

-Andy

Hi Andy -

Yes, I can see where it would be difficult to get here from Grand Junction for a ½ day meeting.  We can certainly investigate doing some of these virtually.

In the meantime, if you have a question or want to share information, you can do so by emailing cl...@googlegroups.com.

We'd be glad to hear from you 🙂

DPL Employee Guidebook wording around breaks

BREAKS

In accordance with State and local meal/rest periods, DPL honors the following:

  • ●  Meal Periods: 30 minutes uninterrupted and duty-free, for shifts over 5 hours. Can be unpaid, but only if employees are completely relieved of all duties, and allowed to pursue personal activities. If work makes uninterrupted meal periods impractical, eating on-duty must be permitted, and the time must be paid. To the extent practical, meal periods must be at least 1 hour after starting and 1 hour before ending shifts. If an employee is approved to voluntarily eat while working or if the library has a time-sensitive need that prevents an employee from taking a meal break, the meal period is added to the paid hours worked for that day. If an employee’s meal period is interrupted, they should notify their supervisor as soon as possible so they can make any necessary adjustments to our timecard in Workday.

  • ●  Rest Periods: 10 minutes, paid, every 4 hours worked. Need not be off-site, but must not include work, and should be in the middle of the 4 hours to the extent practical. Rest periods are time worked for minimum wage and overtime

    49

Commission Approved & Effective April 17, 2025

purposes. An employee's supervisor will schedule these times to ensure proper coverage.
