Although we have already seen the loading progress up to past half full in the Fotki I finally got a round 2 it to edit a couple videos enough to get two under 10 minutes. Since I built the rear of this kiln taller I can get in much easier but it is a tight squeeze for the camera so the first part has a lot of my back with me talking and I see I must have been tired from the allnighter...

At least that ends with a good shot of the setting. I'll say now that I later developed a method using a fine kitchen sieve to dust the alumina hydrate on the post wads but that part is still in the can.
In the next part it it is easier to see how I brace myself on the top of the chamber so I have better leverage to place the shelf without trying to hold my torso up and hold the slowly moving shelf while setting it in place...

... and those roofers knee pads are a God send.
Since I did say the load is past half...

... but I ran out of pieces. The weather was starting to get to freezing at night so I bricked up the door for practice and started another pignose fire with some charcoal to make certain the shelf wadding, cone packs, and recently glazed pots were bone dry...

... (clicking next) then bricked up the front and let her cook all night. The temperature stayed under 200ºF but the neat thing is the chamber stayed pretty warm well into the next day so I know the only moisture in the clay, if any, will be from the atmosphere and I don't think that will amount to enough to damage the greenware.
Well that's it, back to making some larger bowls and taller vases to open up the front of the load so stay tuned and stay in there eh!

Having a few short clips of your DVD's on YouTube would be a good way to market the whole set. When you set up your account I believe you can also create sharing levels that prevent people from downloading without permission and if you get enough hits quick enough you can get paid using discrete adds. Simon Leach has that feature. I subscribe to a guitar lesson site that has all 4 hours on DVD. My fan base isn't big enough for that so I guess I have to wait until we see the pots payday eh? I was hoping to get'er done by Christmas but I have fired in February down below when it was 0ºF. That's OK ya know, hell the Chinese are already tooling up for Christmas 2011. I'm reasonably confident there will be some pretty neat pots in the first load but on the other hand I know the risks and there could be a lot of re-fires so thanks for the support and stay in there eh!
