Hey Folks,

So I was just about done loading the front setting in the last video. Now comes the challenge of getting the last shelf of pots on top so I can brick up the door. This firing I bricked the door with one thickness of 4.5" hard brick like most of the chamber wall and filled in with 4.5" of IFB scraps ...

As before I used the Pignose to warm the chamber to about 1000F before starting to switch the fire to the hobs ...

I noticed something about using the knee high active damper in the stack I thought was holding heat in when in fact having the damper in kept the stack cool and slowed the draft.so, in addition to adding leftover door brick to take the stack to about 17', I closed off the damper slot and set the chimney cap to about 1/2 open. and concentrated on stoking. Some time after the kiln got to 2000 I slid the cap to about 1/3 open and didn't mess with it until I slid it closed to shut her down ...

The total firing time was about 64 hours and peeking revealed some runny glazes up front and what seems to be no cracking in the Continental ^12 porcelain I put right in the main blast of flame. (I don't get paid to say that.)  The results we will see soon so stay tuned and keep potting eh.
