Hello,

Hope everyone is doing well. I have been enjoying reading the posts and hope to get to see some of the pots at the Glenn Richards show if someone posts some photos!

Lately, I have been trying to find some recipes for glazes that I can use in my teachers gas kiln as well as a small anagama another potter I found here has that I can (hopefully!!) put a piece or two in here in Korea.

I sometimes have a little trouble coming up with materials without travelling all the way down to the big pottery store in Yoju so I have been trying to keep it simple. .

First I am looking for a Nuka glaze. So far I have this recipe from the Ash Glazes book by PHil Rogers. Also, I do not have access to rice straw ash.

Nuka 1
Flint  1/3
Ash  1/3
Feldspar 1/3

But I remember seeing a wonderful Nuka with a fair amount of movement and some green in it, (I think by Lee or Craig maybe?) that was posted, I thought on the mashiko's potter's blog or the the woodkiln blog, but I searched both and didn't find it again. Can anyone share a simple recipe?

Also I really like the Minnesota style shino glaze. Can anyone share a recipe for that glaze?

I also hope to do some line tests of ash glazes soon. Hopefully if they don't all turn out too bad I can post some pictures of my own pots to the weblog.

Thanks,

Andy

Lee, Mike,

Just thought I'd chime in here, and let you know that I didn't have the same results with the original post as a few others have mentioned. It came through fine for me, and I could read the whole thing. So add that to the mystery.  David McDonald, in Arizona
