My moto has always been, "It isn't mine until it is sold." We can go through the entire process of the product and have an accident or a failure at the last. Even completed work sometimes gets injured moving it from one shelf to another or during packing and shipping,
Best to all

Subject: Re: [Clayart] CLAY FAILS !
Hi David -
Thanks for that video. The first, second, fourth and fifth snippets are
humorous, and in my many years teaching clay, I saw those things happen many
times. Better the tee-shirt than the hair. And the over-centered board
loaded with freshly-thrown pots happened to me quite a few times.
The third snipped is hard to watch. I feel so bad for the artist who put so
much work into that complex figurative sculpture. But once again, in my
teaching career I saw similar tragic studio accidents happen a number of
times. In this case, I hope that after a period of despair, the artist got
out the clay and started over, and if so, I'll bet the second attempt was
better than the first. We learn something from every single thing we make
with clay.
