I just had both metal straps going around my electric
kiln rust out. As everything was going to be strapped in I used
red devil high temp wood stove mortar. That is for sale at home depot etc.
Sairset is the very best in most cases, but harder to get locally.

The red devil comes in a tube ready for your caulking gun.
I buy the strapping material on amazon. It is sold in 12 foot lengths
and has extra screw on tightening supplies. It is a kit. I keep one
on hand. ten bucks. It is called `stainless steel hose clamp kit`.

It is important to wet your bricks before you mortar. Use a nice flat table
to do your work...and strap in tight. Make sure the mortar is even and a thin
coat. no lumps.

don't break the bricks apart. if they are tight..leave them
