I have this 04 glaze that I've been using for years. I'll attach the
recipe. After sitting in the bucket (for months at a time) it forms
crystals. They are lithium crystals, I believe. Doesn't matter if the glaze
is kept in a warm place.
I sieve out the crystals, and sometimes the glaze works ok. (I've even
tried to melt those crystals and add them back in - doesn't make a
difference). Now, however, the most recent test shows that the glaze is no
longer semi-matte (big surprise), but glossy. I really want the old glaze
back.
So my choice is to start all over and throw out a 3 (maybe 3.5-4) gallon
bucket of glaze (hate doing that), or throw in some lithium and retest.
(Sort of like how I cook, nowadays). But how much? 1/2 cup? a handful?
87 grams?
Here's the recipe. BTW, I know it is not food safe. I only use it on the
outside of pots.
GB 31.5
Neph Sy 8.7
Lithium Carb 8.7
EPK 4.2
Flint 34.9
Whiting 16.6
Yellow I.Ox 8.0
I don't have the expertise for this. Any help would be appreciated!
Thank you,
Sharon
