I recently did a test of my shinos in two distinct conditions. One the kiln
cooled naturally (quite fast as I have a lightweight kiln that cools to
100C in less than a day) and the other the kiln was held at around 1030C
for 5 hours. Here's a blog post with photos of the two cups. The difference
is striking.

I just wanted to thank all the shino guru's who've shared about
slow-cooling their shinos on this forum. I'm having a lot of fun and
getting great results. Really a big thank you for being so generous with
information and advice!
All the best,
Jeremy
