[Clayart] glass and Kyonite

I have friends that make glass filled bowls and use Kyonite to make the glass fit the glaze to the clay.
It works.
Continental Clay makes her clay for glass glazing.

She has sold thousands of pots, no problem.

Can you elaborate further? How is the kyanite used? In the clay body?
Does it increase the coefficient of expansion of the body?
