What are the results people have noticed upon using G200EU in replace of Custer?

I replaced Custer with G200EU a couple years ago in my cone 6
oxidation glaze recipes and have not noted much different in the
results.

Hi we were just discussing this at our Guild. Our main glossy clear
called Anne's Clear is no longer as clear when we used the new G200
instead of Custer. At first we thought it was a mistake in mixing but
no, it is especially noticeable over underglazes and when the glaze is
thick so there is idefinitely a difference. I have an old bucket of
Buckingham spar and will try that and see what happens.

Hi Dan,
All but one of my glazes took to a one to one ratio. The only one that did not was my temmoko. When fired to Cone 10, my temmoko was over fluxed with healed over blisters. I was able to fixthe glaze by dropping the amount of G200EU by 5% and raising the EPK by 5%.
The temmoko even looks like it did before Custer's increase of silica content.

I can only thank my foresight by having 50 lb bag of G-200.

Hi Dan,

Send me the recipe and I'll calculate the sub.

G200EU is closer to g200 than the custer. More KNaO in the EU so the
expansion will go up.
If it;s a runny glaze it will run more.

It's not a difficult fix.
