I am heavily relying on his knowledge about raw materials as I am writing
my book, but I also rely on other resources like Clayart, the Potter's
Dictionary and other books on my shelf, and so should all of us do. The
science of pottery has deep roots and there is a lot of junk ( and shallow)
information out on the internet that gets pushed by a lack of good
information. We"ve seen the good and bad advice here on Clayart throughout
the years and we saw how it was weeded out by those who knew what they were
talking about.
Furthermore, social media has a tendency to push people in a direction;
whether it is to benefit certain people or for the sensation of it and
unfortunately Tony became bait!
Tony will make it through this "course" of his life and I trust we as
potters will be at his side without throwing Plainsman under the bus. He
deserves our support without any ulterior motives.
Best wishes,
Antoinette Badenhorst
