Sumi, your answer sounds very practical, thank you!
Terry, I used to have a Canadian website for sales but no longer. I just
have Facebook as Helen Stone (Maybe you can narrow it down by putting
Vilcabamba in the search,,there are other Helens.) I just posted some
Canadian photos of past work, very different from anything that I have done
here. Also have Ecuadorian pot photos on the Facebook page.
Terry, I feel certain that the issue is indeed the need to calcine the clay
materials in the glazes. Maybe you did not see where I explained how I
found out the problem of the crawling glazes, I think that it was in the
post noted as Calcining...etc. My salt potter neighbour had run into the
same problem and, independently of communicating with me, had done the same
thing, i.e. calcining his material, which solved the issue. We actually
both dig from the same base clay source, as it is on his land and adjacent
land. Not much left, unfortunately, some hippies took an incredible amount
last year for construction, such a waste we potters think.
Thank you so much for your answers. I can always use the help!
Yours in clay,
Helen
