A potting friend would like it if his Estrin wheel had a foot pedal that
behaves like the one on my Aspire - cruise control!!! so he can set it
to a speed and stand up to pot? Seems a reasonable electric arrangement
but I am not an electrical engineer - nor is he! Any thoughts??

Hi Dorothy,
No Doubt this person has asked the dealer or company technical representative what is available.

In the meantime elevate the wheel head to "Belly Button" height and leave the foot pedal on floor or at a comfortable height the foot pedal and cord can reach when on a block.

A stool one can comfortably perch one's butt on to sit or stand as needed is a working solution.

For setting the speed, if no adjusting device is available or one is intrinsic to these electronics, it can be "McGyvered" (WoofGyvered) by drilling a ¼ inch hole thru the top half of pedal and installing a ¼ inch threaded bolt to reach th bottom half of pedal base. A nut on both sides of threaded bolt can then be adjustment for pedal depth of travel.

As I said, fristly call the company and ask.
Secondly, if my description leaves one mechanically befuddled, "McGyver HillBilly" types who will understand and can fix anything, exist everywhere.

Signed respectfully and with love for our craft in all of its manifestations,

Misneach,

"WoofBilly McGyver" Woof............................................................................................................................................
..........Now my Muse, the Little High Maintenence, brown eyed Raven-Haired Vixen is waving a list of things she needs fixing Pronto........
Use your best twisted imaginations........there are no wrong answers.............................................
