Chapter 6 -  High-Resolution Methods

Page 113:
"From the form (6.32), we see that the Lax–Wendroff flux can be interpreted as a modification to the upwind flux (4.33). "

According to (6.15), because (6.31) is upwind, "Lax-Wendroff" here should be replaced by "Beam-warming".

I don't find this errata in https://staff.washington.edu/rjl/book2/errata.html , please have a check.

Hi Jialing,

I don't think that anything is wrong with the statement as printed in the book.  (6.15) isn't relevant, as \sigma isn't used in (6.32).  Instead, compare (6.32) with (6.9) to see the connection with Lax-Wendroff.

Yes, Prof. David, you are right.

I mistook  δ_{i−1/2}^n as a slope, but actually it is "a limited version of \Delta Q_{i−1/2}^n". Therefore, comparing eqn (6.9) and eqn (6.32), it is Lax-Wendroff.

Thanks for explaining!
