We will hold an online (Zoom) GeoClaw Users' Workshop on March 19-20, 2026, with a series of short talks (~15 minutes) by developers and users about interesting GeoClaw-related projects, interspersed with time for discussion and break-out groups to enable chatting more with the speakers or other participants. One-on-one time with developers will also be available for users who need assistance with using GeoClaw.

The workshop will run from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm Pacific Daylight Time on both Thursday and Friday. Participants are welcome to come and go as desired, and participation in break-out groups is entirely optional. If there is sufficient interest, some additional break-out groups may be organized later each day, particularly for users who might want to work with each other or with GeoClaw developers to make progress on a GeoClaw-related project.

Hi, professors,

I have a question. I notice it's "GeoClaw-related", how about its extension "D-Claw", "Bing-Claw"? I'm specially interested in incorporating dispersion effect into D-Claw and Bing-Claw. So I'm wondering if related developers will share their insights or plan during this event.

Thanks!

Jialing

Dear Jialing,

Yes!  D-Claw, BingClaw, and any other related packages should be included in our description for the upcoming GeoClaw Users' Workshop!  Thanks for pointing out this oversight.

In fact Dave George plans to give a talk on D-Claw and Donna Calhoun may also be able to attend and talk about ForestClaw, which now implements many GeoClaw features and has advantages for some kinds of applications.

A more complete list of speakers and tentative agenda will be coming out soon, so anyone else potentially interested in giving a talk should indicate this very soon on the registration form.

Noted, thanks! I will decide if I just attend or show my work using D-Claw by next week.

Hi, Professor. I just registered for a short talk regarding 3D pyvista-related DClaw visualization and interpretation (it's actually a full pipeline crossing pre-processing to post-processing). If time permits, I hope you can add a time slot for me. Thanks!

10~15 min is enough for me to better engage me with developer's discussion.
