For a number of months it has been apparent that there are well
co-ordinated press campaigns being run to present the views of the
existing energy lobby in the media.
They of course have every right to do this, but in many cases they
appear to be doing it covertly our through third parties and that
appeared to me at least to be part of a carefully orchestrated
campaign, designed to keep a certain distance from the message.
But at the same time slowly drip drip dripping out very short and
concise anti-renewables messages.
Having worked in the wind farm sector a few years ago this stuck me as
being a very similar campaign that was exposed by the British Wind
Energy Association BWEA where something like 90% of the anti wind farm
objection articles could be traced back to about three or four people
(well known media personalities) working in a organisation sponsored
by a charity set up by nuclear industry bodies.
It looks like a very similar campaign is being waged today in an
attempt to discredit and obstruct the wide spead take up of renewable
energy.
I was not in the least bit surprised to find my hypothesis confirmed
by a recent press complaints commission enquiry into the recent
articles in the Daily Mail.

Tat this is going on should not perhaps surprise us as the court case
in Paris that has just shown that as far back as 2006 parts of the
nuclear industry were like elements of our press to bug and hack into
NGO computers to monitor their correspondence.
Given the total confusion and complete incompetence in our energy
ministries over FiTs, ROC's and the RHI, one can only imagine the
power of the lobbying that these self same organisations are probably
carrying out to crush out what has become an enormous threat to their
businesses in their home countries like Germany where a myriad of
community and farming and smaller businesses are suddenly springing up
to take away huge slices of the VILES market share.
They must be becoming more and more desperate to prevent that
happening here as well.
Expect to see an every growing number of adverse press releases, and
hopefully months later more successful PCC reports pointing to the
inaccuracy of much of what is being put out.
