Brexit is a disaster for UK science if it means we lose access to Horizon 2020 funding  

Last 5 years: ~6B contributed to this program, ~9 B in grants funding won.   

Access to the ERC grants funds has helped us recruit the best from around the world  Losing access means top scientists will leave to work in places where they will have access to such funds, and it will be much harder to recruit them  Science depends of free movement of people as well as ideas

Brexit an own goal of catastrophic proportions

Do sign me up (if not already), but IMHO, Andrew Marr was talking a heap
of bollocks. Noam Chomsky apparently once said that optimism is a
strategy for survival, and I agree. He did not say that living in cloud
cuckoo land is a recipe for disaster. Marr has lost the plot.
